A Few Music Videos to Sing the Year Out

Yes, there is still another SpokesBUZZ party post left to write & post, and 1-2 posts on those lovely Walled City Records people and their show. But, it’s midnight, and my writing style is probably going to get really ‘interesting’ if I finish these last 3 posts tonight. So, in the meantime, here are a few recent youtube videos to enjoy for the end of the year.

The first is the Auld Lang Syne video Danielle recorded recently and posted today- very nice singing, some harmonies near the end, and all those verses that we know exist but never know enough to sing them when the time comes.

The second video tonight is an unexpectedly appealing version of “Gangnam Style” recorded by Darrell Coyle. He sang this one at the Walled City Records show, and it really worked- sounded like a Darrell Coyle song, almost, and this definitely does not closely resemble the original. I still like his original songs better, but …

See, not so painful as one might imagine. (Can you guess how little I like the original?)

And last, here are two of my favorites from last year, a look at what I was excited about those many months ago- Lumiere’s “Fair and Tender Ladies” and Darrell Scott’s “You’ll Never Leave Harlan Alive”. These two remain in my top 5 youtube videos of all time, along with Ryan Kelly’s “The Village That They Call The Moy”. Danielle Ate the Sandwich (“Faith in a Man”) and Hipple Street’s “Naturally in Harmony” round out my top 5 all-time favorite youtube videos this year.

So, what are yours?
